Frequently asked questions
- How do I extract just a few pages into a new PDF?
- Choose the extract-ranges mode and write one range per line, e.g. 1-3, 5, 8- means pages 1-3, page 5, and page 8 to the end. Each group becomes its own file.
- Do bookmarks and form fields survive splitting?
- Page content is kept in full, but bookmarks and form fields are document-level structures and may not survive - a limitation of the PDF format itself.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. Everything runs in your browser and there is no upload endpoint, so the server never sees your content.
- How large a file can I use?
- Stay under about 100 MB and a few thousand pages. Speed and memory depend on your own device.
- Is it free? Do I need an account?
- It is completely free with no usage limit, and no sign-up or login is required.
- Does it work on phones?
- Yes, the layout is responsive. Large files and complex edits are easier on a desktop.
- Which browsers are supported?
- Any modern browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and their mobile versions.
- Does it work with scanned PDFs?
- Yes for page-level operations, which do not need a text layer. There is no OCR, so text cannot be pulled out of a scan.
