About this tool

This online car insurance calculator helps you estimate your auto insurance premium quickly. It covers 9 lines: compulsory traffic liability, third-party liability, vehicle damage, theft, fire, glass breakage, occupant liability, scratch protection and the deductible waiver, with a full premium breakdown for each selected coverage.

Main coverages explained

Compulsory traffic liability (mandatory)

Officially the "Compulsory Traffic Accident Liability Insurance", required by law. CNY 950/year for cars with up to 6 seats, CNY 1,100/year for 7 or more. It pays third-party injury and property damage; it never covers your own vehicle or occupants.

Third-party liability (strongly recommended)

Pays for third-party bodily injury and property damage. A limit of at least 1M CNY is advised, 2M+ in tier-1 cities. Combined with compulsory insurance it effectively transfers the risk of a major accident claim.

Vehicle damage (strongly recommended)

Pays for damage to your own car from collisions and natural disasters. Its premium grows with the car value and is usually the largest commercial line. New and financed cars are advised to carry it.

Deductible waiver (recommended)

An add-on that requires a main coverage. Once purchased, the 5%-20% deductible you would otherwise pay yourself is transferred to the insurer. Best bought together with the main lines.

FAQ

How accurate is the estimate?
This tool uses the standard industry base-rate table, so the result is only a reference. Actual premiums depend on insurer, region, vehicle model and claims history. Insurers typically discount these baselines by about 30%.
Which coverages are mandatory?
Compulsory traffic liability is required by law. For commercial lines, at least third-party liability (1M+), vehicle damage and the deductible waiver are recommended; the rest is optional.
What should an old car carry?
Compulsory insurance is a must. Add spontaneous-combustion cover once the car passes 5 years. If the car value is low, consider lowering the vehicle-damage limit or dropping it to save money.
How can I lower my premium?
1) Drive safely - 3 claim-free years earn up to 40% off; 2) shop around among insurers; 3) pick a suitable limit rather than over-insuring; 4) watch online campaigns from insurers.
Does the premium change with vehicle age?
Yes. Vehicle damage uses age tiers (within 1 year, 1-2, 2-6, over 6) with decreasing rates; theft, fire and glass are also age-adjusted. For compulsory insurance, several claim-free years lower the rate down to 30% of the base.

About this tool

The car insurance calculator puts "pick vehicle, tick coverages, see premiums" on one page: price, seats and age drive compulsory and vehicle-damage baselines, third-party liability is charged per limit tier, and the remaining lines follow age-adjusted rate tables. The model matches the industry base-rate table used by w3ctool.com's car insurance tool.

Everything is computed in your own browser: the rate tables ship inside the page scripts and no network request is ever made. Your inputs live only in this device's local storage - the server never sees what you computed.
